Over the last 15+ years, Florida's state politicians, county commissioners, city councils and law enforcement officers across the state (state troopers, sheriff's offices, & city police departments) have participated in gradually selling our right to privacy to Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) companies. But in the last 6 years, they've completely sold us out to Flock Safety, Inc.
Flock Safety, Inc. is the largest ALPR provider in America, with over 80% of the ALPR market share. Per the current ALPR logged total cameras on DeFlock.org Florida is the second most surveilled state in the country with 7,169 ALRP cameras logged on DeFlock's map. (California, a state that is roughly 100,000 square miles larger than Florida, is in first place with around 16,000 ALPRs deployed.)
